“Salt”

Matthew 5:13 (MSG)
¹³ “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.

The other day Homer Owen a good friend of mine and I were having coffee together and he mentioned something that God had showed him. He talked about the fact that when you are sick and are admitted into the hospital the first thing they do is hook up a Saline IV solution to flow into your veins and rehydrate you.

We were talking about the amazing health benefits of his Jacob Springs Water that imports from Jericho.

Homer said, “Now that will preach”! I agreed and felt like I would preach it at my next engagement at Glory Land Church in Houston, TX. The following is the sermon that the Lord allowed me to Preach and we had an amazing service.

My Text was Matthew 5: 13 shown above and he gave me a word for this church in Houston as well as the entire body of Christ.

The Title of my message was simply; “Salt”

The bible emphatically says that we are the salt of the earth. You are the Salt wherever you go and you have received all the healing and preserving benefits that salt affords. In the Spirit you change the decaying effects of a lost and dying world.

In Houston that morning in my hotel room the Lord spoke to me that I was going to Glory Land to help build the people and that they would go out and conquer their city for Jesus Christ. And I say to you that if you receive this word it will work for you also. You are “Salt”.

He also brought to my mind 1 Peter 2:9

⁸ And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
⁹ But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

He said to tell them and you that you are salt and light.

In 1831 during the Indian Blue Cholera Pandemic that swept across Europe where thousands of people perished.  The violent cramps, vomiting and Diarrhea had caused them to be dehydrated and their blood thickened and turned the victims a death color of blue. But William Brooke O’Shaughnessy, a recent graduate of Edinburgh Medical School proposed in an article in the Medical Journal to inject cholera patients with Highly-Oxygenated Salt to treat the universal stagnation of the veins.  The idea was adopted by Dr. Thomas Latta and it worked.

You are the Salt and the Lord breathes into you the Pneuma, the Breath (So you become Highly-Oxygenated in the Spirit).

Acts 2:1-2 (KJV)
¹ And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
² And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

The word for wind here is the Greek word for breath. So God breathed in you who are the Salt of the earth and Highly-Oxygenated you to bring preservation and life to otherwise hopeless situations.

You are valuable to the process of salvation to our world. Look at the history and value of salt.

• Salt has influenced human existence virtually from the beginning. Neolithic settlements were at salt springs. Caravans traveled the deserts trading salt ounce for ounce for Gold. Look at the salt shaker on your table and realize that the 3-5 ounces in that Shaker was traded evenly for Gold. Gold is at over $1,900 per ounce. That puts a whole new value of the salt on your table doesn’t it? And the bible says you are the Salt of the earth.
• Roman Soldiers were paid with Salt, thus the term Salaries.
• Medieval Europe was forever changed when Fishermen were able to salt the Cod Fish caught off North America’s Grand Banks, preserving them for sale in Europe.

2 Kings 2:20-22 (KJV)
²⁰ And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
²¹ And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
²² So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.

The springs that Elisha healed are the same springs that now fill the bottles of Homer’s water that he has blessed us with. And the main ingredient amazingly in Jacob Spring’s water is salt.

Wow!! The salt that Elisha put in that water so long ago is still there. And the scripture says that there would be no more death or barren land. I am convinced that this is a prophetic word that applies to us today. So wherever you go, when you walk in spiritual death and barrenness must flee from your presence.

Sunday morning I told Glory Land Church this and then we drank some Jacobs Spring’s Water and six people were filled with the Holy Spirit and I know that we will receive reports of healings. Was it the water that morning that instantly filled and healed? No, though the health effects of this water will be beneficial to you because of its high Alkalinity properties but it was an act of faith to enter in to what God has promised us. We are the Salt of the Earth and wherever we go, Spiritual Death and Poverty (barrenness will flee.
